Where Are Your Thoughts?

Did you know that, on average, a person has more than 30,000 thoughts per day? That’s thirty-one thoughts every waking minute. It would be nice to believe that all 30,000 thoughts were positive, God-centered, and uplifting. But, we know that isn’t the case most days.

Our minds are often filled with fearful, faith-lacking, negative thoughts that keep us from living in the freedom that God wants for us. If we allow God to take up that space in our thinking, our fears and negative thoughts will diminish. 2 Corinthians 10:5 (TPT) states that, “We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.”

We need to stand firm in the power the Holy Spirit gives us to take captive thoughts that are not from our Heavenly Father and cast them at the feet of Jesus where they belong. As we practice this daily, we will retrain our minds and live life to the fullest as Jesus promised us.
