Join us at 5 pm or 7 pm in Bayview Chapel to celebrate Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Christian season of Lent, a 40 day period when the whole church intently focuses on our deep need for God. Christians all around the world from different denominations observe Ash Wednesday as a way to prepare their hearts for a season of repentance and fasting. Although Ash Wednesday focuses on confession of sin and repentance, the joy and peace found in Jesus Christ are at the heart of this deeply symbolic worship experience. This will be a service of reflection and preparation for Lent as we receive communion together remembering the cost of the cross.

The service will include some simple songs, a unison reading from Psalm 51, the optional receiving of ashes as a symbol of our mortality and penitence, a brief meditation on 2 Corinthians 5:21, a time of silent reflection and a celebration of the Lord's Supper.
